### Reflecting on 6000 Contributions
Recently, while publishing an article, I noticed a counter indicating my contributions at CleanTechnica—a milestone I reached this morning: 5999 posts. Today marks my 6000th entry. Incredible! As the Grateful Dead would say, “What a long, strange trip it’s been.”
### The Beginning of My Writing Journey
This journey started back in the sixth grade at a small elementary school located in suburban Rhode Island. For reasons that have faded into memory, I opted to write a story that year—a thrilling narrative featuring sinister forces constructing a base off America’s eastern shores and valiant heroes striving to thwart their plans. Initially prompted by an English class assignment, my teacher praised it highly (as appropriate for someone my age), encouraging me to share it with classmates who eagerly requested more chapters over the weeks ahead.
As excitement waned—and despite many late nights spent expanding on the tale—I found myself unable to reach a satisfying conclusion; consequently, interest dwindled from all sides.
### A New Chapter and Fresh Aspirations
That summer, significant changes awaited as I transferred from public school to an esteemed prep institution managed by the Society of Friends in Providence. The core objective during those five years was clear: secure admission into an Ivy League university en route to becoming either a doctor or—if that didn’t work out—a lawyer instead. However, calculus dashed any hopes of entering medical school; suddenly law seemed like the only remaining path.
### Embracing Technology and Taking Risks
Eventually life moved on swiftly while time slipped by unnoticed. The word processor became an integral tool in place of traditional notepads—all thanks to platforms like WordPress making online publishing accessible and visually appealing like magazines.
One fateful evening at dinner with my wife at our favorite Chinese restaurant revealed what seemed like fate: my fortune cookie urged me not to fear taking “the next big step.” Motivated by this elusive omen—desiring clarity about what lay ahead—I displayed it near my computer screen and subsequently enrolled in an online WordPress course.
The experience proved transformative; soon enough I had established my blog which consumed hours each day—but filled them with creativity instead of stagnation.
I eventually discovered that Gas2—the company behind several eco-focused blogs—was seeking contributors for their network centered around sustainable living initiatives alongside circular economies. My writing began appearing there initially before catching the attention of CleanTechnica’s editor who wasn’t actively recruiting talent but had faith nonetheless when opportunities arose later through collaboration projects across various environmental blogs including Teslarati.
To everyone’s surprise (including mine!), circumstances shifted allowing me access as just one voice among others running Gas2 until responsibility shifted fully onto me when its previous editor departed entirely.
Thanks partly due diligence demonstrated during our collaboration periods/zones (alongside insightful sharing) Zachary Shahan eventually invited me into his ranks as one continuous contributor within CleanTechnica’s ongoing dialogues—which has now resulted here today…5799 articles ago!

Over these last twelve years spanning numerous situations—from seaside hotels along Maine coaststo cafés nestled beside picturesque Lake Como—I’ve dedicated countless moments crafting stories around renewable technologies/environmental advancements versus societal needs worldwide.
