Motorola Moto G53 tipped to upgrade to an OLED display and a newer chipset for the global market

Motorola has just introduced the Moto G53 to its Chinese audience as an affordable new 5G handset, thanks to its Snapdragon 480+ processor. Now, according to the leaker Yogesh Brar, the OEM plans to bring a device of the same name to the global market – however, if so, it may arrive considerably refreshed in a short space of time.

Brar asserts that this future version of the G53 will have a 6.6-inch display, as opposed to 6.5 inches in the real-life model. Furthermore, the panel is tipped to be 90Hz FHD+ and OLED, which could constitute an upgrade over the HD+ panel in the new Moto G variant, even though it compensates with a 120Hz refresh rate.

This ‘global G53’ display is said to be driven by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 rather than the 480+, paired to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It is also touted to upgrade to triple 50+8+2MP rear cameras, whereas the real G53 has dual shooters – one of which is still 50MP.

This confers a difference in appearance on the ‘new’ Moto G53 in renders posted by another leaker, SnoopyTech. Then again, it still has flat edges, although its bezels might be a little less pronounced.

The supposedly upcoming addition to the international Moto G range may still have a 5,000mAh battery, with “Turbo Charging“, which may not mean it charges any faster than the current G53. It will, like the rest of Motorola’s late-2022 releases, run Android 13 on first boot.

Then again, there is no word on when or where this putative Moto G53 Global Edition is supposed to land, or for how much should it do so soon.
