Lucid Motors has begun the initial distribution of its second electric vehicle, the Lucid Gravity, to select buyers, focusing initially on employees, friends, and family members. This rollout marks an exciting milestone for the company as they prepare for broader availability in the near future. An uplifting announcement was shared via X to commemorate these first deliveries.
A Memorable Year-End Delivery
“This weekend marked a special moment as we handed over keys to some of our first production Lucid Gravity SUVs to our employees and their families,” the company noted. “This is merely the beginning—let’s toast to what promises to be an amazing 2025.” Link
The anticipation surrounding the Lucid Gravity is palpable; many experts predict it will outperform its predecessor, the Lucid Air, primarily due to its appeal within the ever-popular SUV segment. Nevertheless, with a premium price tag coupled with fierce competition in today’s luxury EV market, success is not guaranteed.
Ordering Process and Model Features
In recent months, customers have had the opportunity to customize their own versions of the Gravity through Lucid’s online “Design Yours” configurator—an interface designed for seamless ordering. “Lucid Group (NASDAQ: LCID), renowned for crafting some of the most advanced electric vehicles globally, has announced that users can now explore features and specifications for the Grand Touring model,” declared a spokesperson from Lucid recently. The Grand Touring promises unmatched sophistication combined with versatility and generous interior space—a refined option tailored specifically toward discerning clientele.
Peter Rawlinson, CEO of Lucid Motors emphasized: “The Gravity represents an exceptional fusion of capabilities enabled by our groundbreaking technology. It sets a new standard as one of the most sustainable vehicles in its classification available today.”
Pricing Insights
Despite its features and advancements in sustainability tech, potential buyers should note that prices start around $95k and can escalate up to approximately $127k—a factor that may temper sales even among affluent consumers who still consider traditional gasoline-fueled luxury SUVs.
Interestingly enough, one standout feature is that each Gravity comes equipped with a Tesla Supercharger port—making it only the second non-Tesla model ever introduced with such compatibility after Hyundai IONIQ 5 debuted just days ago.
