HMD’s Recent Successes with the Pulse Pro
HMD Global has been making notable strides with its range of devices. Although the timing and consistency of software updates have occasionally missed the mark, the company generally fulfills its commitments to consumers. The HMD Pulse Pro is scheduled to receive two significant software upgrades in addition to three years’ worth of security patches.
Android 15 OTA Update
The Launch of Android 15 for Pulse Pro Users
The rollout for Android 15 has begun, marking a significant milestone for users of the Pulse Pro. Reports indicate that certain units are already receiving this over-the-air (OTA) update, which is approximately 3.12GB in size and includes essential security patches from December 2024. This upgrade not only enhances performance but also introduces bolstered privacy measures, improved battery management features, and refined notification controls.
A Gradual Release Strategy
This OTA deployment appears to be global; however, it’s important to note that it’s being pushed out in phases, so not every user will get it at once.
Lack of Transparent Update Schedules from HMD
While HMD Global has struggled with transparency regarding official update timelines, we have confirmed several models slated to receive Android 15 moving forward:
- Nokia G42 5G
- Nokia G60 5G
- Nokia XR21 5G
- Nokia X30 5G
- HMD Pulse Series Devices
- HMD Crest Series Devices
- HMD Fusion Models
- HMD Skyline Lineup
- This includes HMD T21 as well as further updates for models like XR21.
A Cautious Outlook on Future Updates
The anticipated rollout for these updates may extend into late 2024 or potentially reach some users by early 2025.
