Although it uses the same MediaTek Helio G99 processor as many of its siblings, the Blackview Shark 8 sports a generous 6.78-inch display and, thanks to the ArcSoft 7.0 image processing algorithms, promises noticeable improvements in the photo department. Starting November 11, limited quantities will be available for US$93.99.
Blackview has recently took the wraps off a new smartphone that comes with upgrades in some areas when set next to its predecessors, but doesn’t move away from the aging MediaTek Helio G99 mobile processor. However, this Android 13-driven smartphone targets budget-conscious buyers and, given the price tag — which will be discussed later — it delivers quite a punch.
The Android 13 software experience mentioned above comes with Blackview’s DokeOS 4.0 layer on top, while the ArcSoft 7.0 image processing complements the photo quality delivered by the 64 MP ISOCELL GW3 main camera and the 13 MP selfie snapper that uses the ISOCELL 3L6 sensor. The 6.78-inch display has a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a 2.4K FHD+ resolution. The phone comes with 8 GB memory, 256 GB internal storage, and also supports microSD cards up to 1 TB in size.
With a cooling solution that promises to keep it under 39 Celsius (102.2 Fahrenheit) even in intense gaming scenarios, the Blackview Shark 8 also features a Smart-K Box speaker and a 5,000 mAh battery with 33 W fast charging. This battery is enough to keep the phone powered on for up to 7 hours while streaming video content and 6 hours while playing games.
The three colors to choose from are Galaxy Blue, Scorching Gold, and Moonlight Grey. Starting November 11, 50 pieces of each will hit the market via AliExpress for the introductory price of just US$93.99 (49% off). The final details will surface in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.

In my early school days, I hated writing and having to make up stories. A decade later, I started to enjoy it. Since then, I published a few offline articles and then I moved to the online space, where I contributed to major websites that are still present online as of 2021 such as Softpedia, Brothersoft, Download3000, but I also wrote for multiple blogs that have disappeared over the years. I’ve been riding with the Notebookcheck crew since 2013 and I am not planning to leave it anytime soon. In love with good mechanical keyboards, vinyl and tape sound, but also smartphones, streaming services, and digital art.
