Released at the end of September, the 8-core, 16-thread unlocked desktop processor AMD Ryzen 7 7700X arrived on the market with a US$399 price tag. However, its Amazon list price is noticeably higher, but the US$449 tag has been replaced with one that reads US$346.98 thanks to the ongoing 23% discount.
Unveiled on September 27 alongside the other “Raphael” 5th gen Zen 4 processors, the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X is an 8-core, 16-thread desktop processor with 105 W TDP, support for PCIe 5.0 and DDR5-5200 memory. Other highlights include a maximum boost speed of 5.4 GHz and 80 MB of cache memory. Since the processor comes unlocked, AMD has decided not to add a cooling solution in the retail box. The 23% discount might make this piece of hardware more tempting, although the Amazon list price of US$449 is higher than the three-month-old launch price of US$399.
Those interested in the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X can also grab it bundled with a few motherboards, as below:
- ASUS ProArt X670E-CREATOR WiFi (US$846.97 bundle price, 10% discount)
- ASUS TUF Gaming X670E-PLUS WiFi (US$672.97, 13% off)
- ASUS Prime B650-PLUS (US$546.97, 15% off)
Without a mainboard, the price tag of the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X processor currently says US$346.98. While this is a 23% drop from Amazon’s current list price, it must be mentioned that it’s about 13% off compared to the launch price announced by AMD roughly three months ago. In addition to the lack of a bundled cooling solution, potential buyers should also remember that this chip requires an AM5 motherboard.
After 102 user reviews, the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X has a 4.8/5 rating. This score is the result of 88% perfect ratings and 9% 4-star user reviews. The breakdown by feature only focuses on four attributes, namely value for money (a mere 3.6/5, unfortunately),energy efficiency (4.2),gaming performance (4.8),and stability (4.9).

In my early school days, I hated writing and having to make up stories. A decade later, I started to enjoy it. Since then, I published a few offline articles and then I moved to the online space, where I contributed to major websites that are still present online as of 2021 such as Softpedia, Brothersoft, Download3000, but I also wrote for multiple blogs that have disappeared over the years. I’ve been riding with the Notebookcheck crew since 2013 and I am not planning to leave it anytime soon. In love with good mechanical keyboards, vinyl and tape sound, but also smartphones, streaming services, and digital art.
