Jim Farley has already said Ford isn’t going to lose money paying non compliance fines. Reduced Tesla sales mean reduced credits available. Rivian and other EV only automakers are too small to make a difference.”

Aside from 12 models* that were not around in Q1 2024 (and thus have gone from zero sales to whatever their Q1 2025 total was), the following are the big improvers year over year so far (and their percentage growth in that time):
Honda Prologue — 50,221% (this model really shouldn’t be included here, since there was just a trickle of initial sales in Q1 2024)
Chevy Blazer EV — 931% (this model’s sales growth should probably be ignored for now, too, as production was still ramping up in Q1 2024)
Toyota BZ4X — 196%
Subaru Solterra — 173%
Chevy Silverado EV — 125%
GMC Hummer EV — 109%
Nissan LEAF — 103%
Lucid Air — 58%
BMW i4 — 57%
Overall, so far, the US EV market is up 10% compared to Q1 2024, and it’s up 39% compared to Q1 2023.
We’ll see how top models from Mercedes, Cadillac, BMW, and others are doing in coming days.

Acura ZDX
Audi Q6 e-tron
Cadillac Escalade IQ
Cadillac OPTIQ
Chevy Equinox EV
Dodge Charger BEV
Fiat 500e
GMC Sierra EV
Jeep Wagoneer S
Volvo EX30
Volvo EX90
Volkswagen ID. Buzz
There are other new models as well, but their Q1 2025 sales have not been reported yet, so I haven’t included them in the list above. There are also models that have been discontinued — the Fisker Ocean (since the company has gone out of business) and the Chevy Bolt EV/EUV (with just a few sales still trickling in).
