- Launch the Terminal application located within the Utilities folder inside Applications.
- In Terminal, enter one of these commands followed by pressing Return:

sudo nvram BootPreference=%00 - To stop it from starting only upon opening the lid:
sudo nvram BootPreference=%01 - If you want it not to start solely while charging:
