Electric Heavy-Duty Equipment: A Growing Trend

Currently operational at the site are three electric models provided by Volvo CE: two EC230 Electric crawler excavators and one L120H Electric Conversion wheel loader. Their tasks include excavating around 68,000 cubic meters of soil and rock while preparing space for utility connections and filling in an underground work tunnel. These machines have been affectionately named Electra, Ellen, and Elton—a whimsical nod that reflects their popularity among workers involved in this sustainable venture.
