Ming-Chi Kuo, a prominent Apple analyst, has provided fresh updates regarding the forthcoming iPhone 17, indicating that there will be no significant changes to the Dynamic Island feature.
As we venture into 2025, anticipation builds for the next iteration of Apple’s flagship smartphone—the iPhone 17. With this approach comes a surge in speculation and information leaks about its features and design.
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Kuo asserted that he does not foresee any considerable alterations to the size of Dynamic Island across the upcoming iPhone 17 series.

Says Kuo: “I predict the dimensions of Dynamic Island will largely stay consistent for the second half of ’25 when it comes to the new iPhone series.”

This speculation seems feasible; even though rumors suggest an overhaul in the chassis design for iPhone 17, it appears Apple may maintain similarities with previous models. The company might not see sufficient rationale to alter Dynamic Island at this point.
Kuo’s observations mark one of the first discussions in early ’25 regarding potential modifications to Dynamic Island’s size or aesthetics. Earlier expectations hinted at a slight reduction in size; however, those claims lacked substantial backing during their initial reporting stage.
Introduced with great acclaim alongside the iPhone 14 Pro as an alternative to its predecessor—the often criticized notch from earlier models like the iPhone X—Dynamic Island has generally garnered positive feedback from users.
This favorable reception may explain reports suggesting that Apple aims to implement Dynamic Island into devices like the upcoming iPhone SE 4. This model is also rumored to eliminate its home button in favor of a sleek edge-to-edge display featuring Face ID technology.
