OpenAI Unveils Deep Research Feature for ChatGPT
In early February, OpenAI introduced its groundbreaking Deep Research tool, a feature that allows users to request comprehensive reports on virtually any topic. Now, the company is following through on its commitment by rolling out this functionality to Plus users as of today. The tool is now accessible not only for Plus users but also for Team, Edu, and Enterprise subscribers. Previously, accessing Deep Research required a subscription to the $200/month Pro plan.
Access Levels and Query Limits
For Plus subscribers, the introduction of Deep Research comes with a limit of 10 queries per month included in their plan. Meanwhile, Pro subscribers will see an increase in their monthly query cap from 100 to 120 requests. Along with these changes, OpenAI has made significant enhancements to optimize user experience; ChatGPT can now embed images alongside citations within generated content for more enriched insights. Furthermore, improvements in file type recognition are expected to enhance document analysis capabilities drastically.

Navigating the New Feature
If you’re interested in trying out this innovative feature, simply input your usual prompt and select the Deep Research icon before submitting your request to OpenAI. Depending on how intricate your query is, it may take ChatGPT anywhere from five minutes up to half an hour to generate a comprehensive response. Given that Deep Research demands considerable computational resources at present, Free account holders will likely have to wait before accessing this advanced capability.
