MediaTek has marked a significant transformation in its chipset designs with the introduction of the Dimensity 9300, which featured an all-big CPU core setup. This pioneering approach continued with the release of the Dimensity 9400, which also embraced a similar all-big core model utilizing a 1+3+4 configuration. Recently, reputable leaker Digital Chat Station has provided insights into what we can anticipate from the forthcoming Dimensity 9500’s CPU layout.
A Shift to a New Configuration: The 2+6 CPU Architecture
According to fresh details, MediaTek is planning to implement a revamped architectural design for the Dimensity 9500 that will feature a 2+6 arrangement. This includes two Cortex-X930 “Travis” prime cores integrated with six Cortex-A730 “Gelas” performance cores. Notably, this architecture mirrors that used by Qualcomm in their Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
Exceptional Performance Potential
The prime CPU cores incorporated in the Dimensity 9500 are anticipated to reach an impressive peak clock speed of up to an astonishing 4GHz. In addition, this chipset will be manufactured using TSMC’s advanced N3P process (3nm), which is expected to enhance power efficiency significantly. Furthermore, it will leverage ARM’s Scalable Matrix Extension (SME) technology aimed at providing superior multi-threading capabilities.
