Oppo Unveils the Resilient Find N5: A Fusion of Slim Design and Strength
In February, Oppo launched the incredibly sleek Find N5 foldable smartphone, aiming to demonstrate that an ultra-thin profile can be combined with remarkable durability. A recent YouTube demonstration showcased the impressive strength of its hinge mechanism, revealing that four units could collectively support a weight of up to 50 kilograms with ease.
For a closer look at this impressive feat, view the video below:
This test took place under controlled conditions where each device was strategically arranged to optimize their structural integrity during the load-bearing test. Notably, an individual occupying the swing may contribute additional weight exceeding 50 kilograms, further emphasizing the hinge’s robustness.
The findings from this demonstration signify a significant advancement in foldable phone durability. The Oppo Find N5 holds an IPX8 and IPX9 certification for its exceptional resistance against water immersion and high-pressure water jets. Comparatively, during our evaluations in August 2024, we noted that the Honor Magic V3 also endured considerable stress testing effectively.
Strength Beyond Surface-Level Concerns
While concerns regarding durability are effectively addressed by the Oppo Find N5’s construction quality, issues relating to availability present a significant obstacle for potential users. Currently, this foldable device is limited to select markets within the Asia-Pacific region.
