The OPPO Find X8 camera is getting a serious upgrade. Ahead of the official launch on April 10, OPPO confirmed that its new flagship series will debut the brand-new Lumo imaging system, built for next-level portrait photography.
Lumo combines hardware and software breakthroughs, blending ultra-sensitive optics with smart computational imaging. OPPO is calling it the “Lumo Light Condensation Imaging System”. The setup includes focal lengths at 15mm, 23mm, 70mm, and 135mm, plus a new ProXDR engine for better detail and dynamic range.
The Find X8 Ultra, in particular, pushes things further. OPPO has slapped a super-crystalline blue glass over the sensor, boosting infrared cut-off by 81% compared to regular solutions. There’s also a two-group floating design for the periscope camera, which speeds up focus by 30% and lets you take snapshots from just 10cm away.
OPPO is also debuting a “Danxia” True Tone lens. It uses zonal color temperature perception to restore colors, going beyond traditional sensor-based color correction accurately. The camera also supports live HDR previews with the True Color ProXDR Live feature, giving you a real-time look at your shots.
Sony is playing a huge part in this too. Sony Semiconductor China’s CEO confirmed that Sony and OPPO are working closely to co-develop new LYTIA sensors, including the fresh LYT-900 sensor for the Find X8 Ultra.
With both Lumo and Hasselblad onboard, OPPO looks ready to take smartphone photography to the next level. The full reveal is just around the corner.
