Following Google’s announcement of Android XR—a newly developed operating system designed specifically for extended reality devices—Samsung has disclosed its collaborations with Google and Qualcomm, indicating that they have been engaged in the development of the platform for several years.
A Glimpse into Samsung’s Innovative Headset
Samsung is set to introduce the first headset crafted exclusively for Android XR, codenamed Moohan, which translates to “infinity” in Korean. This groundbreaking device boasts cutting-edge displays, advanced passthrough technology, and seamless multi-modal input capabilities. According to Samsung’s claims, Moohan will serve as “your spatial canvas,” offering an immersive experience that allows users to navigate Google Maps, watch YouTube content, or organize trips using other integrated applications like Gemini. Notably absent was any mention of Bixby in the press release—an intriguing omission.
Comfort Meets Innovation
True to expectations, Samsung asserts that the new headset will be lightweight and ergonomically designed “to enhance user comfort during use.” Although detailed specifications remain sparse at this time, further information regarding Moohan is anticipated within the next year if current speculation holds true.
