This charming project is the brainchild of Philipp Stollenmayer, founder of Kamibox, and English musician and comedian Lorraine Bowen—widely known for her enchanting “The Crumble Song.” “After witnessing Lorraine steal the show with her unforgettable performance on Britain’s Got Talent back in 2015—where she received a Golden Buzzer from David Walliams—I was inspired to create something alongside her,” remarked Stollenmayer. “Her wonderfully eccentric musical style aligns perfectly with the essence of my games,” which also feature titles like Sometimes You Die and Bacon - The Game.
An Absurdist Take on a Classic Tale
PBJ – The Musical uniquely intertwines themes from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet with elements of theatrical musicals (primarily featuring younger performers!) while utilizing intricately crafted paper landscapes modeled after real cutouts. Within this story, Peanut Boy emerges as an ode to Romeo against a stark black-and-white post-war backdrop; conversely, Strawberry Girl is brought forth from a vibrant realm adorned with regal motifs. Players can easily navigate these characters through intuitive taps and drags as they manipulate paper figures within an artistic diorama.
