Unveiling the iPhone 17 Air: Key Features and Specifications
Recent speculation surrounding Apple’s next-generation device, the iPhone 17 Air, suggests it will come in at a thickness of 5.5mm. Notably, the phone is expected to feature a camera bump that protrudes from its rear surface, according to various design renderings.
The anticipated depth of this camera extension is estimated to be around 4mm. Consequently, when accounting for this bump, the total thickness of the iPhone 17 Air would reach approximately 9.5mm; however, stripped of the protrusion, it remains at a sleek baseline of 5.5mm.
Camera and Display Innovations
Initial reports indicate that the iPhone 17 Air will incorporate a singular rear camera setup. The display is likely to be an expansive 6.9-inch LTPO OLED screen—similar to what we see in the premium iPhone 17 Pro Max model.
The battery capacity is projected to fall somewhere between 3,000 mAh and 4,000 mAh—a modest choice aimed at maintaining its slender profile while still delivering decent performance. This single-camera configuration aligns with Apple’s strategy of minimizing hardware features in favor of achieving an ultra-thin design.
