The South Korean tech giant appears to be acknowledging the growing trend of creating thinner foldable devices, initiated by its Chinese rivals. The Oppo Find N5 currently leads as the thinnest book-style foldable device on the market.

Dimensions and Thickness Comparison
While the Fold7 may not surpass Oppo’s achievement for thinness, it will come remarkably close—enough that most users may not notice much difference. Reports suggest that when unfolded, its thickness will be approximately 4.5mm and around 9.5mm when folded. This thickness includes the camera bump; without it, estimates suggest it might approach 9mm—but specifics remain unclear.
For comparison’s sake, Oppo’s Find N5 measures about 4.2mm when fully opened and 8.9mm in its folded state. In practical terms, these minor variances in millimeters are negligible for everyday users; thus, Samsung’s upcoming foldable should feel similarly thick to the Find N5.

The unfolded dimensions of the Fold7 reportedly measure at approximately 158.4 x 143.1 mm—making it slightly taller and over one centimeter wider than its predecessor—indicating a potential increase in aspect ratio for its cover screen.
Taking Camera Technology Up A Notch
The main camera system is rumored to receive an upgrade featuring a staggering 200 MP sensor inherited from the Galaxy Z Fold SE model; complemented with a 12 MP ultra-wide lens and a telephoto lens at 10 MP for enhanced photographic capabilities while selfies appear largely unchanged compared to current models: holding steady with both a hidden under-display camera at 4MP and another standard camera at 10MP located on external display.
