‘Marvel Snap’ rejoins the App Store.
The beloved game “Marvel Snap” has officially made its comeback on the App Store, seemingly due to newly established publishing agreements that have successfully extricated it from the recently sanctioned ByteDance.
Just a few days following its initial removal from Apple’s iOS offerings, Marvel Snap is back for good. The game’s developers appear to have secured alternative publishing pathways that successfully detach them from ByteDance’s umbrella during this transition.
On January 19, Apple took action by removing Marvel Snap from its digital marketplace as part of compliance with legislation outlawing all applications owned by ByteDance within U.S. borders. Additionally targeted were other widely-used apps like TikTok, Lemon8, and CapCut—all products of ByteDance’s extensive portfolio.
At that juncture, Marvel Snap was published by Nuverse—ByteDance’s subsidiary based in China—which inevitably forced the game to suspend its services across America and led to its extraction from Apple’s platform.
By January 21—merely two days later—the creators behind this popular card collection game announced their resolution: a renewed availability for users in the United States while actively seeking new publishing partners to enable their return to the App Store. Although Marvel Snap succeeded in resuming operations after a delay exacerbated by an executive order signed by President Trump 75 days prior, Apple’s guidelines still didn’t permit ongoing distribution of this app without substantial changes.
A significant breakthrough occurred on Monday when Marvel Snap reemerged as downloadable content for iPhone users across America once more. Furthermore, evidence suggests that Apple has excluded it from their list of restricted ByteDance apps—alluding to successful negotiations executed by Second Dinner with new publishers. Specific arrangements remain undisclosed at this time.
To make amends for users affected by the brief two-day hiatus imposed due to regulatory actions concerning ByteDance’s holdings, players now benefit from enhanced experiences and extra rewards within the game itself as compensation for any disruptions they faced during that period.
While it’s reaffirming news for Marvel Snap enthusiasts returning with access again on iOS devices, other applications linked with ByteDance—including TikTok—remain inaccessible via Apple’s application store platform at present. Nevertheless, existing TikTok users can still view content if they had previously downloaded it before legislative measures took effect.
