Anticipated Redesign of the Magic Mouse: What We Know So Far
Apple is reportedly in the process of reworking its Magic Mouse to resolve various user grievances, as highlighted by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg.
Recently, Apple transitioned the charging mechanism from Lightning to USB-C for its Magic Mouse; however, the charging port’s placement on the bottom of the device remains a significant drawback. This design choice makes it impossible to use the mouse while it’s being charged. Although this issue might appear trivial given that charging is typically quick and infrequent, it is encouraging to learn that Apple plans to move the port’s location in future iterations.
“Apple aims to innovate in a way that’s more applicable and improves upon existing issues—including those related to how it charges,” Gurman stated.
Additionally, Gurman hinted that we can expect enhancements aimed at making the upcoming Magic Mouse more comfortable and ergonomically friendly for users.
Possible Design Influences from Competitors
No specific styling details have yet emerged regarding this revision of the Magic Mouse. However, turning towards popular alternatives such as Logitech’s acclaimed MX Master 3S may offer some insights into potential features. The MX Master stands out with its ergonomic shape complemented by a thumb rest and a conveniently situated front-facing USB-C charging port alongside dual scroll wheels and superior precision tracking.
