Xiaomi’s Redmi K80 Series Achieves Remarkable Sales Milestone in Just 100 Days
In November 2024, Xiaomi introduced the highly anticipated Redmi K80 series, which features the Pro model as one of the pioneering smartphones equipped with the cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Recently, Xiaomi marked a significant achievement by announcing that over 3.6 million units of this series have been sold within just three months from its initial release.
This impressive sales figure encompasses various models including the standard K80, the enhanced K80 Pro, and a special edition known as the K80 Pro Automobili Lamborghini Squadra Corse. Each model showcases Xiaomi’s commitment to innovation and performance in smartphone technology.
Upcoming Additions to the Redmi Lineup
Xiaomi is poised to expand its offerings further by unveiling two exciting new models: the Redmi K80 Ultra, which will feature an extensive 6,500 mAh battery and utilize a Dimensity 9400+ chipset; and a gaming-centric variant named Redmi K80 Gaming powered by an advanced Snapdragon 8s Elite processor.
The precise specifications for both chipsets are yet to be disclosed; however, MediaTek is scheduled to launch its upgraded flagship SoC next April. This suggests that Xiaomi might plan their new device introductions soon after this announcement.
Market Focus on China Before Global Expansion
As it stands, all recorded sales for these devices have occurred exclusively in China since there has not been an international rollout yet. Speculations suggest that when they do reach global markets, they may be rebranded as Poco F7 devices. Notably absent from these announcements so far appears to be any indication of a basic version of the series.
