Reviving History: The Honor Magic7 Pro and AI-Powered Photo Upscaling
The Honor Magic7 Pro is equipped with a range of innovative artificial intelligence features, among them the remarkable Photo Upscale function that revitalizes vintage photographs. This technology was showcased in a collaborative presentation with Qualcomm, highlighting the significant milestone of Old Trafford’s 115th anniversary, home to Manchester United FC.
A Glimpse into the Past
During this event, Jason Leach, the historian for Manchester United, shared insightful stories behind some iconic images displayed during the demonstration. One such photograph captured Mark Hughes’ memorable goal against Norwich City during a pivotal season when United clinched their inaugural Premier League championship.
Technical Brilliance Behind the Scenes
The Honor Magic7 Pro is driven by Qualcomm’s elite Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. Judd Heape, Vice President at Qualcomm in San Diego, noted that it is primarily due to its sophisticated AI Image Signal Processor (ISP) that enables such advanced photography capabilities. Wei Luo, Chief Imaging Architect at Honor emphasized that this functionality transcends mere image enhancement; rather it serves to reconnect individuals with cherished memories from yesteryears.
Insights from History
Leach also recounted personal experiences tied to some of the previously blurry images now enhanced through this cutting-edge technology. He highlighted how elements like construction beams and cranes—once faintly captured—are now rendered in vivid clarity thanks to AI advancements.
A Lasting Partnership
Qualcomm continues its esteemed partnership as title sponsors of Manchester United and holds front-of-shirt sponsorship rights until 2029. Since July 1st of this year, fans have seen the Snapdragon logo prominently featured on both men’s and women’s team jerseys throughout various competitions.
