Recent communications on their newly launched webpage confirm a job recruitment initiative has been initiated regarding the anticipated store.
Despite these developments, specific job openings have yet to be disclosed; furthermore, neither the precise date for the grand opening nor the exact street address has been revealed. All that is known is that this exciting addition is “coming soon.”
In keeping with Apple’s trend for innovative branded spaces, this forthcoming store will sport its own unique logo design. However, unlike recent locations such as the Miami outlet, promotional artwork isn’t available for download at this time.
It’s widely believed that Apple plans to occupy two vacant retail spaces situated between 1426 and 1434 Woodward Avenue, per information from the Detroit Free Press.
Once it opens its doors to customers, this new location will become Apple’s fourth establishment within greater metropolitan Detroit and its seventh across Michigan. The existing stores are located at Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi, Somerset Collection in Troy, and Partridge Creek in Clinton Township.
Bedrock Real Estate currently manages the property where the new store will be positioned. Dan Gilbert, who heads Bedrock and initially envisioned an Apple presence back in 2015, continues to advocate for revitalizing downtown viability through such initiatives.
Signage indicating renovations has been visible since June 2024; additionally, Gilbert played a pivotal role in introducing an Apple Developer Academy to Detroit’s educational landscape back in 2021.
The establishment of an Apple retail location is seen as a potential catalyst for further economic enhancement within downtown Detroit—an area that has been experiencing positive growth recently. The prospective site finds itself nestled between a trendy boutique hotel and what was once Hudson’s department store but now serves as General Motors’ headquarters.
