Exciting WhatsApp Integration on Google Messages
Google Messages is set to enhance user experience with an exciting new feature that integrates WhatsApp. Recent analysis of the latest APK version indicates that users will soon have the capability to initiate a video call through WhatsApp directly from the Google Messages app.
When both you and your chat partner are using WhatsApp, you’ll notice a fresh addition in the upper-right corner of your messaging interface: a video icon labeled “WhatsApp Video Call.” By tapping this icon, you can seamlessly begin a video conversation.
This feature is predominantly designed for one-on-one conversations; however, in group chats or if your discussion partner doesn’t use WhatsApp, messages will default to utilizing Google Meet for video calls instead.
While this functionality appears promising, we may see adjustments before its official rollout. It would be beneficial if Google Messages allows users to choose between initiating calls via either WhatsApp or Meet—catering to those who prefer specific platforms for their conversations.
The exact launch date for this integration remains uncertain, but with it currently under development, we can anticipate its release in the upcoming weeks.
