Ford Extends Free EV Charger Installation Program
Ford has officially prolonged its “Power Promise” initiative, now set to run until the end of March this year, moving from its original cutoff date of January 2. Launched in October of last year, this program enables buyers of select electric vehicles (EVs) to benefit from complimentary home charger installations.
No-Cost Home Charging Solutions
The “Power Promise” initiative grants customers a no-cost Ford Charge Station Pro, a Level-2 electric charging unit featuring a CCS1 interface with an estimated value around $1,300. This offer also encompasses standard installation services at zero extra charge, presenting an attractive advantage for those looking to purchase EVs.
Importantly, Ford clarifies that the complimentary installation includes up to 80 feet of wiring and caters to a 60-amp output capacity. Should any installation needs surpass these parameters, customers will bear the additional expenses themselves.
Qualifying Models and Exclusive Advantages
This free charger installation opportunity is available for in-demand EV models such as the upcoming 2025 Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning, and E-Transit Cargo Van. The promotion applies whether vehicles are outright purchases or lease agreements. Additionally, Ford offers extra incentives including round-the-clock customer support through live agents and free roadside assistance for buyers.

The automaker touts the program’s expediency with an average lead time of just 11 days from quote provision to completed installation. Remarkably available across all states in the U.S., Ford notes that approximately 85 percent of home charger installations remain within standard parameters—allowing most consumers to enjoy their new chargers without incurring additional fees.
In the previous year alone, Ford reimbursed customers up to $2,000 for earlier charger setups; however, it’s currently undetermined if this reimbursement practice will be sustained throughout this extended period.
A Surge in Electric Vehicle Adoption
Apart from these program specifics, Ford also highlighted significant growth trends regarding EV adoption seen over 40 states in early 2024. Nebraska stood out with an astonishing increase in sales—up by 136 percent—in relation to its offerings by Ford. Much credit goes toward the Mustang Mach-E model which recorded sales figures reaching 51,745 units last year—a notable rise of 27 percent compared with prior figures.
The future looks promising as Ford plans further expansion within its EV portfolio which may include introducing a new three-row electric SUV alongside potential enhancements on existing models already on offer.
