YouTube TV has successfully negotiated a deal with Paramount, averting the threat of losing access to popular channels. Just last week, subscribers were informed about the possible blackout of Paramount properties such as CBS, Comedy Central, and Nickelodeon if an agreement wasn’t established.
A Historical Partnership on the Brink
When YouTube TV launched in the U.S. a few years ago, it featured Paramount’s channels among its core offerings. However, tension arose recently as YouTube TV disclosed it had not yet concluded its contract renewal with Paramount ahead of a critical deadline set for February 12. In light of this uncertainty, YouTube TV proactively communicated potential refund procedures to users who might lose service.

The very next day after alerting subscribers about the looming risks, YouTube TV announced it had secured a temporary extension with Paramount that would keep its channels live while further negotiations occurred.
“We’re pleased to announce that we’ve finalized an agreement allowing us to continue broadcasting Paramount channels including CBS and Nickelodeon,” stated an official representative. “With this renewed partnership in place, users will have access to over 100 channels alongside optional add-ons like Paramount+ with SHOWTIME and expanded user choices in the future. We thank our subscribers for their understanding throughout these talks.”
