### Enhancements on the Horizon for Vision Pro
#### Upcoming Features with visionOS Update
In April, Apple plans to launch a significant update for visionOS that will integrate Apple Intelligence into its Vision Pro headset. This update will also introduce an improved guest mode and a new application dedicated to spatial content.
The anticipated features are expected to roll out alongside visionOS 2.4, with beta testing set to commence as soon as February 16th.
#### The Introduction of Apple Intelligence in Vision Pro
The deployment of Apple’s AI functionalities has encountered several challenges. Initially highlighted at WWDC24, Apple Intelligence made its official appearance in late October via iOS 18.1, though only limited features were available at launch. With the subsequent iOS 18.2 release in December, more enhancements were introduced; however, these offerings still seemed somewhat underwhelming compared to those from other leading tech companies.
Nonetheless, it is surprising that Apple’s sophisticated AI capabilities have not yet reached their premium mixed-reality device priced at $3,500—especially when considering the hardware within the Vision Pro includes an M2 chip and 16GB of RAM capable of supporting advanced AI functions.
According to reports from Bloomberg, integrating this suite of artificial intelligence tools into the Vision Pro will occur with visionOS 2.4 come April; however, early adopters may get access sooner thanks to an immediate rollout of beta software later this week.
Apple’s integration will encompass various features akin to those found on their iPhone and Mac platforms—such as Writing Tools and Genmoji—but it’s important to note that these additions may not fundamentally transform user interaction or significantly augment device efficiency. Nevertheless, they signify Apple’s venture into leveraging AI across multiple devices beyond just mobile platforms.
#### New Spatial Content Viewing Application
The upcoming visionOS 2.4 version is set to debut a novel application designed specifically for viewing spatial content sourced from varied external resources on the Vision Pro headset.
Furthermore, this update aims at revamping Guest Mode by providing users with comprehensive control over onboarding guests through their iPhones instead of being restricted only through headset settings—a change intended for improved ease and accessibility when managing guest interactions with applications associated with the device.
