Introducing Polestar’s Exclusive ‘Arctic Circle’ Collection
GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN — Polestar has unveiled its exclusive collection of ‘Arctic Circle’ vehicles, building upon the unique design seen in the inaugural Polestar 2 Arctic Circle presented in 2022. This newly launched lineup now includes distinctive variants of the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4, showcasing a comprehensive series of rally-themed vehicles that highlight the brand’s performance heritage. These models are set to make their grand debut at the FAT Ice Race taking place in Zell am See, Austria on February 1.
A Statement on Performance and Design
Michael Lohscheller, CEO of Polestar, commented: “The Arctic Circle collection embodies our distinct performance ethos that merges motorsport legacy with Scandinavian aesthetics. Our engineering process takes place under extreme conditions within the Arctic Circle in Sweden; during the FAT Ice Race event we will demonstrate that no vehicle performs like a Polestar on ice. We are thrilled to showcase our entire model range at this prestigious event which celebrates automotive culture and exceptional performance.”
The Motorsport Influence Behind Every Model
With roots deeply embedded in motorsport culture and honed by Joakim Rydholm, Head of Driving Dynamics at Polestar, our performance DNA is rigorously tested against Sweden’s challenging northern landscapes within the Arctic region. Boasting multiple podium appearances in Swedish rallies over three decades of racing experience, Joakim along with both design and branding teams have implemented rally-inspired elements across all models.
A Collaborative Journey to Innovation
Joakim Rydholm expressed excitement about this undertaking: “The development phase for the original Polestar 2 Arctic Circle was immensely rewarding; adapting that concept for our new SUV models has been an exhilarating challenge. Collaborating closely with top-tier technology partners has enabled us to introduce specialized engineering solutions that emphasize our high-performance standards while delivering outstanding driving enjoyment.”
Engineering Features That Standout
Crafted at one of Polestar’s research and development centers in Sweden, these vehicles feature elevated ride heights complemented by custom-designed three-way adjustable Öhlins dampers along with Pirelli studded tires fitted onto OZ Racing wheels—the latter marking a world premiere for their new ‘Rally Legend’ edition—as well as advanced Quad Evo front spotlights from Stedi and Recaro bucket seating arrangements which enhance rally aesthetics across each unit.
