The recent Cisco Live event in Amsterdam was a remarkable experience, particularly in its lively atmosphere and the emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI) as a pivotal theme. Throughout the event, discussions consistently revolved around how to effectively harness AI for business growth and innovation. I had the privilege of sharing insights alongside Carlos Pereira, Fellow & Chief Architect for Customer Experience at Cisco, during an engaging main stage presentation.
The Imperative of Value-Driven AI Implementation
A crucial point I gathered from our discussions is that we should not approach AI as an all-encompassing solution. For IT executives, it’s vital to emphasize the delivery of tangible business value by pinpointing specific use cases that promise a strong return on investment (ROI).
Innovative Applications of AI in Customer Support
One standout application for AI that we explored lies within customer service enhancements. During my session, I enthusiastically shared examples from our own Technical Assistance Center (TAC), where we have integrated advanced features such as a self-service support tool powered by our AI Assistant and automated predictive analysis for hardware issues—all contributing to seamless operations!
Carlos further enriched this topic by presenting additional CX use cases involving agentic AI aimed at hyper-efficiency in service provisioning while simultaneously addressing rising cybersecurity threats. He offered valuable insights into potential risks related to deploying AI technologies and strategies for mitigation. Furthermore, he provided essential guidelines on maximizing ROI when adopting these technologies.
