Tata Electronics Expands Its Footprint in India’s iPhone Manufacturing Sector
Tata Electronics has taken a significant step by securing a 60% interest in Pegatron’s iPhone assembly facility located in India. This move follows Tata’s acquisition of Wistron’s operations within the country last March, signaling its determination to establish a prominent role in India’s electronics production landscape.
Following the successful purchase of Wistron’s assets, Tata is currently managing an iPhone assembly plant in Karnataka. This latest acquisition further cements Tata’s position as a vital component of Apple’s supply chain. Additionally, Tata is working on establishing another assembly unit for iPhones in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.
The Rise of India as an Electronics Manufacturing Hub
This series of investments underscores the increasing significance of India as a strategic center for electronics manufacturing on a global scale.
