After an extensive testing phase last year, WhatsApp is finally launching the much-anticipated double-tapreaction feature for its users. In addition to this new interaction method, the app is also debuting image filters and a tool that converts selfies into personalized stickers. Here’s a guide on utilizing the double-tap reaction feature effectively.
Understanding the Double-Tap Reaction Feature
The double-tap reaction feature enables users to access a menu showcasing their frequently used emojis. This interactive element allows you to choose an emoji or sticker when responding to messages. Unlike platforms such as Messenger, where tapping twice immediately adds your last-used emoji, WhatsApp provides you with the option of selecting a different emoji every time you react.
Previously, users were required to press and hold on a message in order to add their reactions; this method remains available as another way of engaging with messages if desired.
How to Utilize Double-Tap Reactions on WhatsApp
- Open the WhatsApp application.
- Select a chat conversation.
- Locate the message you wish to react to and double-tap it.
- A pop-up window will appear; scroll through it and choose your preferred emoji for reaction.
If you wish to alter your chosen emoji after sending a reaction, simply double-tap or long-press that same message again appending further options; alternatively, tap on the displayed emoji if you’d like it removed altogether.
Please be aware that while this gesture works seamlessly within standard chat interactions, it isn’t applicable when using broadcast lists or advertising features within WhatsApp.
Additional Features: Filters and Customized Stickers
Beyond the rollout of double-tapping reactions, Meta has also introduced various filters and effects enhancing image sharing capabilities. Users now have access to approximately 30 background styles originally found only during video calls—choices include Warmth Adjustments, Cool Tones, Monochrome Filters among others like Light Burst Effects and Dreamy Visuals!
A notable enhancement is character creation of custom stickers from personal photos or selfies available across both Android & iOS systems! Navigate through either emojis or stickers section in-app where images can be converted into fun sticker formats—currently limited solely just messaging purposes but sure expanding possibilities down-line very soon!
