Among major players at this year’s MWC, Lenovo has emerged as one of the standout companies. The tech giant presented an extensive range of laptops, showcasing enhancements on existing ThinkPad models alongside intriguing prototypes.
The new ThinkPad T14s 2-in-1 adopts a design reminiscent of the Yoga series rather than traditional ThinkPads. It boasts a vibrant 14-inch touchscreen display offering brightness levels up to 400 nits. Additionally, various ThinkPad models are receiving performance upgrades; notably, Lenovo claims that its upcoming ThinkPad X13 Gen 6 will showcase one of the lightest designs in its history. Furthermore, some laptops are being integrated with generative AI technologies.

A few concepts have especially piqued our interest—most prominently, Lenovo’s Yoga Solar PC Concept which unfortunately won’t be commercialized anytime soon. This innovative laptop can gather enough sunlight in just 20 minutes via its solar energy cells to provide an hour’s worth of video playback; even minimal exposure—like just 0.3 watts—is sufficient for recharging it! Although solar-powered devices aren’t entirely novel, this model feels polished and we hope Lenovo will explore this technology further down the line.

Additions include several innovative display accessories designed specifically for their ThinkBook line-up—a magnetic eight-inch screen that can attach alongside your laptop provides access to notifications and widgets seamlessly integrates into your workflow. The Magic Bay Dual Display Concept allows users a larger secondary display on either side as well as another slim panel positioned above your screen providing quick access tools like weather updates or AI assistance functionalities.
