Apple Set to Implement Groundbreaking Changes in iOS, iPadOS, and macOS
Apple is gearing up for a significant transformation across its operating systems—iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, the tech giant is poised to introduce one of the most extensive software redesigns in its history with the arrival of iOS 19, codenamed Luck for iPadOS 19, and Cheer for macOS 16. These new platforms are anticipated to be unveiled during Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, followed by their availability to consumers in the Fall.
A Unified User Experience Across Devices
The central theme of these updates is Apple’s aspiration for a more cohesive user experience. The company aims to create a seamless interface that transcends smartphones, tablets, and computers. Reports indicate that design elements from Apple Vision Pro’s visionOS will influence all three upcoming operating systems.
Significant Overhauls Anticipated
According to Gurman’s insights, users can expect fundamental changes throughout icons, menus, core applications, window designs as well as an overhaul of the entire system user interface on each platform. Notably, it has been stated that iOS 19 represents the largest overhaul since the introduction of iOS 7 back in 2013; similarly impactful changes are anticipated for macOS with Cheer being heralded as Mac’s most substantial update since Big Sur rolled out in 2020.
