Global Rollout of Apple Intelligence Set to Accelerate
Beyond the United States, Apple’s AI capabilities are branching out into significant markets such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the UK. Yet there remain numerous major regions where these features have yet to make an entrance.
During Apple’s Q1 2025 earnings call (reported by SeekingAlpha), CEO Tim Cook detailed upcoming international expansion plans for Apple Intelligence. He stated:
“In April, we will introduce Apple Intelligence in a broader range of languages: French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean—alongside simplified Chinese—and offer localised English specifically tailored for Singapore and India.”
This expansion into Europe along with support for simplified Chinese is expected to significantly enhance iPhone sales in locations outside of the US market.
Additionally, Cook confirmed future enhancements for Siri that promise to elevate its capabilities further. While specifics were not disclosed by Apple at this time, such improvements may be included in the anticipated iOS 18.4 update launching in April.
No Major Adjustments with iOS 18.3 but Enabling Features by Default
Inevitably following versions 18.1 and 18.2 which added notable enhancements under the umbrella of Apple Intelligence was iOS 18.3—characterized with fewer substantial modifications but an important usability aspect; it established default access to AI features for all users upgrading their devices (iPhones or iPads) within this version’s framework while refining notification summary functionality.
If you are eager to experience what Apple Intelligence has on offer—even if your dialect isn’t natively supported—you can engage these features immediately on your iPhone by adjusting your settings: Go to Settings > General > Language & Region and select English (US). This simple adjustment also functions effectively on both Macs running macOS Sequoia as well as on new generation iPads exhibiting updated systems.
