Exciting New MacBook Air with OLED Display Gets Pushed Back: What You Need to Know!

The anticipated ‌release of a MacBook Air featuring an OLED screen may take longer than previously projected.

MacBook Air 15 Inch Feature PurpleAccording to information from⁤ the Korean outlet The Elec reported yesterday, sources in the⁣ industry indicate that the launch of the first MacBook Air equipped with an OLED display is now anticipated for around 2029. ‌This marks a ⁣shift from earlier expectations that it would⁤ debut by‍ the year 2027. The article attributes this delay to disappointing sales figures for last year’s initial iPad Pro models ⁤utilizing OLED displays.

The ‍report⁢ suggests that since these OLED screens did not significantly enhance iPad Pro sales as Apple had hoped, there has been a strategic decision to postpone incorporating this premium display technology into ‌future MacBooks. However, further reasons contributing to this delay have not been elaborated in the report.

While it appears that ‌the MacBook Air will continue utilizing LCD technology over at least the next four years, there are indications that Apple intends to introduce “oxide TFT” ‍technology for models slated ‌for release in 2027. This change‍ is expected to yield substantial improvements including enhanced color accuracy and contrast ratios, more consistent brightness levels across ‌displays and increased energy efficiency leading to prolonged battery life. Thus far, although full adoption of OLED technology may be on hold, meaningful⁤ upgrades are still expected in two⁢ years’ time.

On another note,‌ Apple continues its plans whereby new MacBook Pro variants featuring OLED displays are set for launch next year.

In‍ addition, within a month or two we can expect Apple’s announcement regarding refreshed versions of ⁢their existing lineup of both the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models housing M4 ⁣chips.
