Apple has officially launched the second wave of its developer beta updates, rolling out new versions for iOS 18.3, iPadOS 18.3, macOS 15.3, tvOS 18.3, watchOS 11.3, and visionOS 2.3.
Following the initial release on December 16th, this latest batch includes updated designs and functionalities for iOS and other platforms as part of their ongoing development cycle.
The newly issued developer betas for iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 share a corresponding build number of 22D5040d, superseding the previous version labeled as 22D5034e. For macOS Sequoia version 15.3, the current build is designated as 24D5040f compared to its earlier iteration at build number 24D5034.
In addition to these updates, tvOS has introduced build number 22K5540e while watchOS has progressed to version number 22S5540e; meanwhile visionOS reaches a new milestone with build versioning at number 22N5881d.
While not all details concerning Apple’s revisions in this new round of beta testing are disclosed yet, it is evident that more enhancements involving Apple’s intelligence capabilities will emerge soon enough. The introduction of Genmoji within macOS Sequoia version 15 has been noted thus far; however major modifications were minimal during the first beta rollout.
According to official documentation released with the inaugural update, improvements include resolving an issue where personalized images would fail to generate unless another individual was selected beforehand when using Genmoji features alongside rectifications related to the Writing Tools API utilized by various third-party applications.
Both AppleInsider and Apple caution users against installing test operating systems or any form of beta or release candidate (RC) software on essential devices due to potential data loss risks associated with such activities; it is advisable that testers utilize secondary or less critical devices while ensuring they maintain adequate backups for vital information.
